on my knees
"7 more days to complete the roof" that was what i have been told 2 days back. my faith is wearing thin. datelines given by the contractors? i am sceptical.
yesterday, as i stood looking up the other side of the stage, i knew God was teaching me patience. you ask why? coz the ceiling on the other side is now showing signs of leaking.
by the way, i am now told that it's not only the roof but also the draining pipes that are providing us a waterfall on stage.
Lord, please ........

teachers are helping to get the props and sets ready as fast as possible. they too are getting their hands dirty working with the students.
class teachers are playing their part in the promotion of tickets and sponsorship.
students are organised to sell tickets to the public.
teachers are working on the t-shirt sales and printing of souvenir program.
they are also contacting the press and organising a press conference.

the hercules medley was sung during speech day as part of a presentation. it was a good exposure for the students to have a feel of the stage.

backstage blues
the sets were wrongly placed. the play went on. i walked to the backstage ready to get an explanation.
at the backstage, the crew looked worried. one tried to console the rest. he did not notice i had stood behind him. with a reassuring voice came these words, "let's hope SHE doesn't notice". i was tickled. without missing a beat, i answered from behind, "I hope so too". their expression were priceless.

with preparations at the art room intensifying, the place is gradually turning into a total workshop.

we will sing
there will be a choir performance by the Hercules team during this coming speech day. on top of promoting this year's play, the students will have a fine opportunity to perform before a large audience.
is this part of the act? guess not, just another one of those social moments.a blessed birthday 2 u!

complete
our practice is now complete with the joining in of AVA team.
and it rained
we had another one of those wet afternoons. the stage has its fair share of rain through the leaking roof.
the cast was getting wet as they stood at the backstage waiting for their entrance. once again we saw our backdrop dripping with water. we could not even paint about a third of the backdrop due to this problem. and here, we have only 2 weeks to press conference and full dress rehearsal.
my heart grows weary as i continue to see the unfinished roof.
no more rain dance, please!

dress up time
the boys are shy. that's my general observation. lol.
boys had a try out of their costumes this afternoon. some need to be altered. sorry can't help them there, my hands are already full. we'll be having another costume day session to see the altered ones.

mama papa nite
due to the summer 8 concert featuring hong kong, taiwan and local singers, our parents' nite will be brought forward from 11 aug (saturday) to 10 Aug (friday) .
"the fates read the future. they foresee - traffic jams, noisy crowd and dirty streets."
anyway, let's look at it this way, we don't want to steal their limelight, hence the change of date.

ACT 1
we conducted the whole of act 1 today with new comers joining in the practice.
musicians who have their separate sessions came in with full force. also with us was a strong team of stage crew who started their duties with the setting up of sets and props.
while the hall was buzzling with the practice, the art room was equally excited with various groups preparing sets, props and costumes.
